The Three Goslings. (Italy)

When interpreting a text through a feminist lens, reflect on the following questions:

Is the author male or female? We Feel the Author is Female because all of the goslings were girls.

Is the hero male or female? The hero is the smallest gosling and it was also a girl

Is the text narrated by a male or female? The Narrator is a female because she tells about the wolf in a good description; we feel the wolf is man because he does all the knotty things to the goslings

What types of roles do women have in the text? House makers, they build the house keep it clean and even cook.

Are the female characters the protagonist or secondary or minor characters? The characters in the story are main characters because it is just a story of how they survived makes them main characters and strong willed.

Do any stereotypical characterizations of women appear? Yes, the wolf thinks that just because they are little that he can take them on and have know, but he failed to think that it was three against one.

What are the attitudes toward women held by the male characters? That they are weak and they he can outsmart them is he keeps asking to meet for dinner because he thinks that one day the gosling will slip up and he will be able to eat it.

What is the author’s attitude toward women in society? That women have the same rights as the men and just because they are women they can do anything they chose and to keep it up they will get the job done.

Is female imagery used? If so, what is the significance of such imagery? Female imagery is used in the story because from the began the goslings are said to be female and most females are smaller than males, females often cook, and when they ask men for things they always get what they want and know questions to ask.

Do the female characters speak different than the male characters? Yes because when they answer the wolf when he asks to come in or to open the door they sound like little girls plus girls often fight with their sister for the prettiest things

Compare the frequency of speech for the male and the females? We do not believe there is any speech frequency going on with the males over the females we just believe that because the wolf is a boy that he thinks he is more important then the gosling so he try’s to take over them and eat them but the little one even though she is small she is still able to defeat the wolf and keep all the sisters safe.
